About XML

XML is a powerful and flexible programming language that enables a wide range of information to be shared among diverse applications and operating systems. The strength of XML is that its structure, or rules, are defined by a developer. Because these rules are dependent on the developer, XML maintains its flexibility by not being limited or constricted in its use. Therefore, XML can contain many different kinds of data for the purpose of distribution, display and storage. XML stands for eXtensible Markup Language.

eBRIDGE utilizes XML in its solution adapters when processing business transactions between external sources and the back-office financial system.
